SEMOLINA
Subtractive Synthesizer
Modern and Minimalist subtractive synthesis
Ludvig Ward Audio Semolina is a simple yet surprisingly powerful subtractive synthesizer, designed with both ease-of-use and unique sonic characteristics in mind. In a time where instruments often offer endless capabilities, LWA Semolina offers a different experience - creativity through limitations and an unorthodox approach to DSP architecture.
At the heart of the Semolina is the powerful and intuitive modulation matrix: two modulators that can modulate almost every parameter on the front panel simultaneously. These flexible modulation capabilities allow for organic and experimental sounds that go beyond what most would associate with traditional subtractive synthesis - but of course, classic 70's style leads, pads and basses are also very easy to dial in on the Semolina. The oscillators are carefully designed to mimic the clarity and richness of analog oscillators, while also providing optional functionality such as phase syncronization that are rarely seen in the analog domain.
