About me

Hello, nice to meet you!

I am a musician, composer and software developer with a deep passion for all things music and audio. My current focus in music is exploring new jazz-adjacent territories in my project Ludvig Ward Trio, but I also occasionally produce and compose in other formats, such as hip-hop production and film scoring. My inspirations as a creator range all the way from the heartwarming harmonies of Bill Evans to the cold extradimensional soundscapes of Autechre, and even though my current output is most easily described as Jazz, I regularly like to break free from the pre-defined constraints of named genres.

I believe that music (and other artforms) provides us with an opportunity to deeply engage with parts of our nature that will always be far beyond our intellectual comprehension, as well as an opportunity to speak in a language common to all people. And above all, music is simply a great way to have a good time.

My journey as a software developer started during my university studies in Music Production at the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg, where we did projects with Pure Data. I got hooked on the idea of creating my own instruments and effects, and continued to dabble with Pure Data, Max/Msp, and other high-level audio languages such as Faust for several years while working as an audio engineer. In 2023 I started studies in Computer Science, and in 2024 I went on to start creating my own audio plugins in C++. When designing music software, I aspire to fuse minimalistic UI with powerful DSP algorithms, to create intuitive playgrounds for sonic exploration and expression.
